Rooted in Scripture, Built on Family

Pastor Jonathan Naik was born into a Hindu tribal family of Banjaras in a small Indian village. His early life was marked by a string of hardships. Financial difficulty deepened the family's suffering after the death of his father from cancer, his sister in a tragic accident, and his elder brother from a heart attack. The family lost everything after a Hindu priest advised them to demolish their home over alleged Vaastu problems. In the wake of it all, Jonathan's heart hardened, and he denied the existence of God.

Jonathan was depressed and struggling with addiction, at the edge of despair, when he had a miracle experience. Driven by something he couldn't explain, he found himself in a hostel room where he noticed a gleaming Bible. He was hesitant at first to pick it up, but when he opened it to Proverbs 2, to the words "My son," he felt it as a father's voice, the word alive before him.

While pursuing his engineering degree, Jonathan committed himself to full-time ministry, planting churches and training pastors throughout India. His own community doubted him at first, but after a remarkable turn, 95% of the villagers became Christians. Because of his devotion, a church was built exactly where his family's home had once stood, demolished for the beliefs that first hardened his heart against God.

Pastor Jonathan has been serving in the USA since 2011, and continues to have a profound influence on everyone he meets. His transformation from hopelessness to dedication stands as proof of the transforming power of faith. His influence reaches beyond India, he has ministered across the United States and in London, sharing the good news of salvation and hope.
